About the Opportunity

As an Inventory & Logistics Specialist, you will play a vital role in the end-to-end lifecycle of components and equipment within our Reno data center. You will be responsible for maintaining meticulous inventory records, coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, and ensuring the data center has the necessary resources to support Apple's cutting-edge technologies. This role demands a blend of analytical skills, strong organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including operations, engineering, and supply chain, to optimize inventory levels and maintain a highly efficient data center environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using established systems, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Receiving & Processing: Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming materials, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Storage & Organization: Ensure the proper storage and organization of inventory within the data center, adhering to safety protocols and maximizing space utilization.
  • Distribution & Fulfillment: Coordinate the timely and accurate distribution of components and equipment to various data center areas and teams, responding to urgent requests as needed.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement. Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations and data center protocols, ensuring a secure and compliant work environment.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Maintain clear and effective communication with internal stakeholders, providing updates on inventory status and addressing any concerns.
  • Equipment Tracking: Manage the tracking and maintenance of data center equipment, ensuring proper documentation and lifecycle management.
  • Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and other logistical issues in a timely and effective manner.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in inventory management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management systems and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
