Senior Associate, Loan Servicing

About the position The primary focus of this position is to provide outstanding service to both internal and external clients while aiding in the management and administration of a complex loan servicing portfolio. This role requires the superior execution of several core functions, including system maintenance and interaction with various departments such as Loan Operations, Asset Management, Originations, Closing Coordinators, Investor Reporting, and Accounting. The successful candidate will also provide leadership and direction to junior team members, ensuring that all duties are performed with a high level of accuracy and responsiveness. This is critical for the department to effectively respond to time-sensitive requests and maintain compliance with all investor requirements related to Lument services. Key responsibilities include the expert ability to read and interpret core loan documents across all product types, project leading, outlining responsibilities, and delegating workflow to meet deadlines. Regular status updates to upper management regarding outstanding items or deadlines are essential. The role also involves quality control and review of newly set-up and converted loans, supporting the Associate Director with audit-related inquiries, and assisting with IT-related initiatives to test and implement system updates. The candidate must effectively contribute to strategic team initiatives and goals, conduct training for less experienced team members, and ensure proper communication with Lument's legal and compliance personnel. All job functions must be executed in compliance with investor requirements and Lument's policies and procedures, while also collaborating with Lender Technology to test and implement system enhancements. Additionally, the role requires preparing payoff/IRR calculations for all product types and proactively managing maturing loans and correspondence, along with knowledge of escrow administration. Requirements • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. , • 5-6 years in commercial mortgage servicing or commercial real estate required. , • Exposure to FHA, USDA, Ginnie Mae, Freddie Mac, or Fannie Mae loans. , • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. , • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant systems or software. , • Ability to self-manage and work independently while being a team player. , • Strong planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills to meet deadlines. , • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in daily activities. , • Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing. Nice-to-haves • Experience with audit control metrics including RegAB, IA, and SOX practices. , • Familiarity with loan servicing software and systems. , • Experience in training and mentoring junior team members.
