[Remote] Product Manager, NoCode Marketplace & Merchant Operations
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. PayJunction is seeking a Product Manager to own their NoCode platform and merchant operations portfolio. This role involves coordinating external development with internal engineering for a multi-horizon integration platform and managing merchant-facing products to enhance user experience. The ideal candidate will bring human-centered design thinking to both domains, ensuring the solutions built are technically sound and genuinely useful for users.
Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, strategy, and quarterly roadmap for NCPI and merchant operations. Articulate where we are going, why, in what order, and what we are choosing not to do
- Coordinate external NCPI development with internal engineering. Define integration contracts, acceptance criteria, and handoff processes. Ensure both teams are aligned on scope and timeline
- Own the merchant experience across the operational product surface. Identify friction, advocate for usability, and improve the daily experience of merchants using PayJunction
- Build and maintain the product backlog with strategic intent. Prioritize based on business value, cost of delay, and merchant impact. Maintain 2-4 sprints of ready work at all times
- Drive the multi-horizon marketplace strategy: sequence the evolution from NoCode integrations to a full partner ecosystem with clear milestones and measurable outcomes at each stage
- Conduct product discovery before committing major work. Talk to merchants, interview integration partners, analyze support data, review competitive ecosystems. Validate before building
- Write benefit hypotheses for major initiatives and validate outcomes post-ship. Own the full cycle: discover, plan, build, ship, measure, learn
- Collaborate with engineering during sprint planning, refinement, and execution. Be available, be clear, and treat developers as partners in building the right thing
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders. Send monthly domain updates. Surface trade-offs and sequencing changes before people have to ask
- Triage all incoming requests in your domain. Accept, defer, decline, or route. Every request gets a visible disposition
Skills
- 7+ years of experience preferred as a Product Manager or in a similar product leadership role
- 3+ years working with Agile/Scrum teams, driving (not just participating in) sprint planning, refinement, and backlog health
- Experience managing products built by external development teams, coordinating between external vendors and internal engineering for integration and alignment
- Experience with API, platform, or integration products where your users included developers or technical partners
- Experience owning merchant-facing or SMB-facing product experiences where the end user is a business operator managing daily workflows
- Proven track record of outcome-focused delivery with measurable evidence of impact (adoption, engagement, revenue, retention)
- Experience with marketplace, ecosystem, or integration platform strategy involving third-party developers or partners
- Strong human-centered design instincts: you think in user journeys, you notice friction, you advocate for usability even when no one asks you to
- Experience in payments, fintech, or B2B SaaS with regulated environments preferred
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and product intake/discovery tools preferred
- Product management certifications (CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent) preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
