Azure Data Platform Engineer
Genesis10 is seeking an Azure Data Platform Engineer for a hybrid role with a major healthcare organization based in Bloomington, MN. This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity. Our client was recognized as a Star Tribune "Top Workplaces" award winner in 2025. Conversion Salary Rate: Up to $135k per year. Our client is seeking a Data Platform Operations Engineer to support the continued growth of our cloud and data platform capabilities. This is a newly created position driven by increased demand, offering the opportunity to work on modern Azure-based infrastructure and data solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in building, deploying, and optimizing cloud-based data platforms while collaborating in a growing, fast-paced team environment.
What You'll Do
- Deploy and manage Azure-based cloud infrastructure and data platform services
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and modern CI/CD practices
- Support operational needs across the data platform, troubleshooting, and resolving issues
- Partner with team members and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions
- Document deployments, configurations, and processes
- Research and implement improvements for evolving platform needs
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (service deployment and management)
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
- Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools
- Strong understanding of data platforms and architectures
- Experience with PostgreSQL
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of cloud networking fundamentals (VNets, subnets, private endpoints)
- Experience with:
- Azure CLI
- Azure Monitoring tools
- Databricks
- SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
- Exposure to Azure AI Studio / Azure AI Hub
- Deeper expertise in Databricks

- Mid-to-senior level engineer with strong hands-on experience
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven experience deploying real-world Azure solutions
- Strong communication skills for collaboration and stakeholder engagement
Work Environment
- Some on-site presence required (typically with 2-3 days' notice)
- Small, growing team (currently 4 members)
- Daily work includes:
- 1-2 hours of meetings
- Hands-on engineering and solution development
- Research and innovation for platform improvements
