The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Product Designer to join our dynamic team and lead the design efforts for our innovative applications. As a Product Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and driving product strategy. This role will report into the Senior Product Manager and work closely with the engineering team, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional user-centered solutions.

This is an international, fully-remote, freelance contractor position, working from home, at a location outside of the United States. We are particularly seeking candidates who are based in Latin America.

There is flexibility in your work hours but we expect that you will generally maximize your overlap with California hours (eg. until 2pm Pacific Time Zone).

The work will all be conducted in English.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in product strategy discussions, contributing to the overall vision and roadmap
• Collaborate with the Product and Engineering managers in leading a Product Squad, collaborating closely with stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions for our new B2C and B2B web applications and internal platform.
• Contribute to the implementation of Product Design best practices when necessary to set a new standard and increase Zicasso’s product culture maturity.
• Conduct user research to gather insights, identify user needs, and inform design decisions.
• Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and concepts.
• Create detailed handoff documentation that includes design files, component specifications (typography, spacing, colors), and interaction behaviors.
• Iterate and refine designs based on feedback, user testing, and data-driven decision-making.
• Ensure a consistent and cohesive visual language, driven by our core Brand ID and customer-first orientation, across all applications, adhering to established design systems and guidelines.
• Advocate for a user-centered design approach and promote design best practices within the team.

Required Experience

• 4+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of leading design initiatives.
• Extensive experience in the travel industry, and/or luxury products and services, is highly preferred.
• Experience in web design and diverse user research techniques will be appreciated.
• A strong passion for travel and creating exceptional user experiences.
• Proven proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar.
• Demonstrated expertise in UI design, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
• Deep understanding of agile development methodologies.
• Strong understanding and experience with product strategy, metrics and OKRs.
• Experience leading design reviews and mentoring other designers.
• Experience in fast paced growing environments, either in start ups or nimble structures.
• Experience defining and implementing design best practices.
