Remote Account Manager, Lighting and Sales Experience Required

Position Overview We’re seeking to fill two immediate openings for an Account Manager who will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned contractor accounts. Your job is to build strong relationships with past and potential customers, uncover upcoming lighting needs, and drive sales by providing quotes for value-engineered solutions. This is a remote sales role with a flexible schedule, ideal for someone with a background in lighting sales who enjoys being proactive, building rapport with contractors, and staying hands-on in the sales process. You will have a full support team to handle operations allowing you to focus on selling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership and engage new incoming leads to ensure they stay active and make repeat purchases.
  • Re-engage dormant or infrequent customers and re-establish RelightDepot as a trusted partner.
  • Own the relationship with assigned contractor accounts, act as their go-to lighting partner.
  • Uncover active or upcoming lighting projects (new construction, renovations, service, tenant improvements, etc.).
  • Quote lighting packages directly, from routine discretionary purchases to complex value-engineered proposals. Extensive Lighting product knowledge is required.
  • Maintain accurate account records, contacts, opportunities, and follow-ups in Zoho CRM.
  • Educate customers on value-engineered options, lead times, and availability to help them win bids or keep projects moving.
  • Track sales progress, follow up consistently, and expand each account's sales potential over time.
  • Collaborate with leadership on target account strategy and opportunity prioritization.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of outbound phone-based sales experience (required)
  • 3+ year of experience in the lighting industry (required)
  • Ability to understand lighting specs and match customer needs with product solutions
  • Comfortable using a CRM (Zoho experience is a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Access to a computer and quiet workspace suitable for phone sales
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly base pay: $17–$22/hour depending on experience
  • Commission on attributable sales over minimum threshold (no cap)
