Collections Specialist - Remote (Boise, ID)

As a Collections Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the timely collection of funds owed to the company, resolving customer billing issues, and contributing to our strong cash flow. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a high-volume portfolio of customer accounts, conducting phone calls and correspondence to collect delinquent balances.
• Investigate and resolve disputed or unauthorized customer deductions.
• Provide exceptional customer service while addressing collection inquiries and ensuring payment of past-due balances.
• Monitor the order release queue and proactively address any delays.
• Prepare and analyze monthly reports, participating in aging meetings to review portfolio status.
• Prepare final demand letters and negotiate payment plans with customers.
• Coordinate account placement with third-party collection agencies as needed.
• Generate monthly customer account statements.
• Process accounts receivable transactions, including debits, credits, and payments.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Maintain the integrity of customer accounts and ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable and collections (preferred).
• Self-starter with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Experience with SAP or mainframe systems (preferred).
• Basic understanding of internal controls and SOX requirements (preferred).
• Experience in the consumer products industry (preferred).
• Experience in a shared service environment (preferred).
