About the Role: As a Bilingual Education Assistant III (Cambodian), you will utilize your knowledge of English and Cambodian to provide assistance to certificated staff in academic instruction and language proficiency assessment of students identified as English learners. Your responsibilities will include tutoring students, correcting homework assignments, maintaining records, and serving as an interpreter and translator as needed. You will also administer oral language proficiency and academic tests, collect and score assessment tests, and provide support to staff in compiling reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tutor students identified as English learners to improve their proficiency in English and their understanding of curriculum subjects
• Assist assigned students with problems related to school achievement as a result of language barriers
• Promote the well-being of students by helping them develop a positive attitude and self-image
• Maintain records of grades and student progress
• Consult with teachers on ways of better meeting students' needs
• Perform related tasks as required in program planning, implementation, and operation regarding assigned students

Requirements:

• Any combination of paid experience amounting to one year: providing instructional assistance to a credentialed teacher, tutoring students, providing interpreting or translating services, or administering language proficiency tests and assessments
• High school graduation or the equivalent
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English and Cambodian
