Title: QA Automation Engineer

Location: Mumbai, India

The Role:At Morningstar, our mission to help investors drives us every day. We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our International Wealth Platform team. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to develop and enhance automation frameworks, ensure the quality of financial applications, and contribute to delivering exceptional products.

As a key team member, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement automation strategies, improve test coverage, and ensure seamless integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully in an Agile environment while building a strong foundation in automation testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust UI automation frameworks with tools like Nightwatch, CypressIO, WebdriverIO, and Playwright.

• Contribute to building and enhancing automation frameworks, ensuring they are reusable and maintainable.

• Perform API testing (manual and automation) using Java Rest-Assured library.

• Leverage JavaScript/TypeScript libraries like JQuery/ Angular to enhance testing capabilities.

• Proficient in Java and JavaScript/TypeScriptas programming languages.

• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other QA team members to design test strategies and automation plans.

• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless quality checks across the software lifecycle.

• Conduct manual and automated testing for both UI and APIs to ensure comprehensive coverage.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, contributing to team alignment and delivery.

• Document and report test results, defects, and progress to stakeholders effectively.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

• Overall experience of 3-4 years in Quality Assurance and Testing with relevant 2+ years hands on experience in Automation.

• Proficient in automation tools like Nightwatch, CypressIO, WebdriverIO, orPlaywright.

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java programming languages.

• Experience in developing or enhancing test automation frameworks.

• Familiarity with API testing (manual and automated).

• Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and TestRail.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a self-driven mindset.
