Banner Home Medical Equipment is one of the top providers in Maricopa County, and have expanded to Pima County market in 2019. Services we provide are Respiratory, Sleep and Ventilation services, Photo Therapy, Negative Wound Pressure Therapy, Orthotic and Prosthetics, Durable Medical Equipment, Enteral Nutrition, Ostomy, and Wound Care Supplies. We service over 100,000 customers each year and anticipate additional growth in the coming year. As a Patient Service Rep, you will be handling incoming referrals from various platforms for new HME service requests along with other administrative tasks. This is an opportunity to explore career growth at Banner Home Medical Equipment (HME) which is part of the Banner Post-Acute Services agency!This is a fully remote position and available if you live in the following states only: AZ, CA, CO, NE, NV, and WY.

Scheduled Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing customer service for referral sources needing durable medical equipment. This position works on order processing from start to finish. Provides support with Customer Care Specialist and Dispatchers to help assure efficient delivery of equipment, supplies and services to patients and customers.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Handles incoming and outgoing calls for new orders/request for services. Gives verbal and written instructions to customers both internal and external. Individualizes approach to customers and introduces self to the customer. Answers all phone calls and assists caller until all needs are met. Returns calls to customers. Greets walk-in customers and assists them with equipment and supply needs. 2. Obtains and enters accurate intake information from health care provider or referral source in order to initiate the referral process. Determines appropriate referral pattern according to available service criteria. 3. Gathers complete and accurate information in order to complete the Service Request form. Provides effective written and verbal communication to other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure initiation of care. 4. Utilizes computers to create spreadsheets, word processing and reports. Files and fills in for Receptionist and others, when required. 5. Completes insurance verification accurately and appropriately. Follows up regarding necessary communication with payer, provider and billing entities. 6. Works independently under regular supervision. Follows defined procedures. Works primarily in one facility but may be asked to fill in in other HME locations, when required. Interacts with co-workers, physician office staff, physicians, patients and families, billing employees, and 3rd party payers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Requires literacy and basic math skills. Must possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Must be proficient with commonly use office software products and possess the ability to learn new software applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in customer service or familiarity with home medical equipment is preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
