About the Role:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager for our AI SDK team, focusing on building blocks to empower the next generation of AI-powered developer tools. As part of the AI SDK team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our AI-driven developer experience tooling, helping teams ship faster with cutting-edge AI-assisted workflows.

You will work closely with product designers, AI researchers, and other engineers to develop intuitive and performant features that seamlessly integrate into the Vercel ecosystem. Your contributions will directly shape how developers interact with and benefit from AI-driven solutions in their workflows.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and enhance AI-powered developer tools, improving code generation, automation, and seamless integration with Vercel.
  • Oversee the architecture and implementation of performant, scalable, and reliable solutions that support AI-driven interactions in web development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with AI researchers, frontend/backend engineers, and product teams to push the boundaries of AI in developer experience.
  • Ensure an exceptional user experience through thoughtful UI/UX design.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI and developer tooling, incorporating the latest advancements to enhance the v0 platform.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues, ensuring the reliability and performance of AI-powered experiences at scale.

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on AI-powered or developer-focused tooling. Experience with the Vercel AI SDK preferred.
  • 3+ years of Engineering Management experience.
  • Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience building modern web applications.
  • Experience working with AI models and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, fine-tuned models, or LLM-based applications).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and serverless platforms, particularly within the Vercel ecosystem.
  • A strong passion for developer experience and a deep understanding of how AI can enhance productivity.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $196,000 - $294,000 Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location, and the total package includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
