Job title: Restorative Practices Interventionist (Dzantiki Heeni Middle School) Company: Alaska Teacher Placement Job description : Position Summary: This position monitors, assists and directs students assigned to in-school suspension during the school day, communicating with teachers to facilitate assignment and submission of work. The successful candidate will provide classroom support in other classrooms; monitor non-classroom areas to ensure appropriate student behavior; and organize and supervise service projects within the school and community. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma. Excellent verbal, written, and inter-personal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of policies and procedures related to acceptable student behavior. Knowledge of issues and concerns of high school students. Preferred Requirements: Experience working in a high school setting. School-related, youth-related, or tutoring-related experience. Successful experience supervising or guiding teens. Completed college classes, particularly in education. Classroom management experience. Understanding of middle school systems and discipline procedures Compensation: This is a full time 9-month position, working 37.5 hours per week, with a starting salary of $22.97 per hour. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off. Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a criminal background check.
