Planetary is looking for an experienced part-time (20-30 hours/week) frontend engineer for ongoing work across a number of exciting client projects. As a part of Planetary, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of technologies, dive in to complex problems, and develop valuable user interfaces. You'll be a part of smart, strategic, and enthusiastic teams, able to fully exercise your development and technical skills across a multitude of projects. This is a contract role. The hourly rate offered is $50–75/hr. You will be needed for between 20 and 30 hours per week, on an ongoing basis. Rate will depend on experience. (Salary listed is the annualized full-time equivalent.) About us Planetary is a product studio where happiness, empathy, and exploration are our core values. We design and develop everything from consumer-facing websites to B2B-focused web and mobile apps, creating unique experiences and distilling complex requirements into digestible interfaces. We began as a remote team and, as such, have a comfortable work environment including: • Flexible hours and autonomy over your time • The ability to work from anywhere you'd like • A healthy work/life balance Requirements You must have the following experience: • At least 3 years of experience working with Next.js, at least 5 years with React, and at least 8 years with Javascript. • Self-motivated and excited about finding technical challenges in any project. • Familiar with the latest tools and technologies for frontend web development. • Located in North, Central, or South America. Additionally, you are: • Excited to contribute to and have a meaningful impact on a close-knit team. • Able to work with minimal supervision. Self-motivated and pro-active approach required. • Able to attend meetings during NYC (Eastern Time) work hours. • Fluent in English at a professional level. Responsibilities • Planning and executing against a backlog of development tasks on a sprint-based schedule. • Estimating levels of effort and rough timelines for completion. • Reviewing the code of teammates, providing feedback, and identifying issues or adjustments.
