RN - Registered Nurse (Hybrid Remote) - Patient Safety Specialist - Essentia Health - USA - work from home job Company: Essentia Health Job description: Building Location: South University Clinic Department: 48190 Risk Management Job Description: Gathers, analyzes, and evaluates information on a variety of patient, family, and provider clinical care and safety issues, including information contained within policies, procedures, regulatory and legal obligations to conduct a thorough analysis and investigation. Communicates the position of the organization internally and to patients / families. Actively participates in performance improvement teams as assigned. Provides consultative, educational and resource services to the organization. Education Qualifications: Key Responsibilities:

• Reviews details of risk/patient safety events, grievances, and other feedback events and helps facilitate necessary steps for resolution, education, and/or future process improvements
• Conducts adverse event analysis, investigation, and reporting
• Conducts Workplace Violence Investigations
• Conducts Drug Diversion Audits and Investigations
• Investigates and responds to Attorney General and 3rd Party Payor Insurance Complaints
• Assists with Licensed Provider Board Complaints (MD, PA, NP)
• Assists with Litigation Discovery, Subpoenas, Search Warrants, and Deposition Scheduling
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years Registered Nurse experience preferably in an ambulatory or acute care setting
• May be required to hold multiple state licensures, depending on work locations
• High level of interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
• High level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using electronic medical documentation systems or database systems

Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Certification/Licensure Required:

• Current license with the appropriate State Board of Nursing
