Senior Network Engineer

Responsibilities:Architect, configure, and oversee the global network infrastructure across multiple teleports and Points of Presence (POPs), ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational excellence. Lead deployment and manage servers and virtual machines (VMs) on Redhat, CentOS, and Windows operating systems in teleports. Manage firewall policies. Oversee lab network architecture to ensure resilience and seamless remote access capabilities for cross-location operations, optimizing interconnectivity and reliability. Design and implement advanced network and systems software solutions leveraging protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, 802.11, Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS, VLAN, Multicast, SNMP, proxy, tunnels, Radius, RabbitMQ, Redis, and others to enhance network performance and scalability. Lead collaboration efforts with strategic partners (e.g., Hughes, SES, and Telesat), ensuring network interoperability, robust integration, and enhanced resilience in shared infrastructure environments. Direct and support the Backbone Core Network team in managing and optimizing the global backhaul infrastructure critical to aviation network demands, with a focus on performance, security, and redundancy. Architect, implement, and oversee advanced Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions to develop and optimize service object signature rules, ensuring alignment with complex customer requirements and high-performance network standards. Develop Python scripts to automate tasks or process data, such as IPFIX streams, or to support core software services. Sustain high availability of critical systems by managing and optimizing ER monitoring, MySQL/MariaDB databases, and backend services, ensuring reliable operation for both air and ground networks. Lead strategic planning and execution of network projects, including new deployments, system upgrades, and network expansions, ensuring seamless integration, minimal disruption, and alignment with enterprise standards. Provide Focus on implementing networking-related projects and programs. Advise and provide guidance to Engineering Management on the progress of new installations, features, and network enhancements, providing insights to guide organizational strategy and technical direction. Establish and enforce network-related standards and procedures for use by Network Services, Technical Services, and the Network Operations Center (NOC). Drive research and development efforts to identify innovative methods to enhance the network and associated services. Lead deployment projects for product launches in the production, ensuring seamless integration, minimal downtime, and alignment with operational standards. Mentor and provide technical support and guidance to other team members, fostering professional growth and advancing team expertise in complex network an infrastructure solutions.Position also requires periodic, intermittent travel up to 10% to various worksites within the United States.Educ./experience:Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Network Engineer or related role.
