The Product Health Team is responsible for the retention and maintenance of driver and loyalty profile information for EM customers, and making this data securely available to other services, solutions, and third-party vendors. You will be part of a full Java stack and data engineering support team consisting of analysts, engineers, and other technical leaders responsible for a suite of applications and services, supporting Renter and Loyalty capabilities, using technologies such as Restful APIs, AWS Cloud, React, Oracle and Teradata.As an Engineer 2 – Software, you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent our department on complex assignments. In this hybrid role, you'll combine backend software development with data engineering to build robust, scalable, and high-performance systems that power our data-driven platforms. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology’s effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations.To succeed, you should have experience supporting large-scale, global software offerings and enjoy challenging the status quo to deliver enhanced customer value.   • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must reside in the United States (does not include Alaska or Hawaii)
  • Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in Java-based software development
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience with relational databases
  • Proficiency in Teradata SQL and Oracle SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance-tuned code.
  • Ability to analyze and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability in large-volume environments.
  • Must have experience with Java 8 or higher
  • Rest API development experience
  • Experience with emerging cloud platform technologies, preferably AWS
  • Must have strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in full software development lifecycle
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows/Unix operating systems
  • Proficient with web services & service-oriented architecture
  • Experience with application servers such as WebLogic and Tomcat
  • Must have strong communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management and with people of varying technical knowledge
  • Ability to collaborate well with others while accepting responsibility/ownership for assigned tasks and projects
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • React, TypeScript, Jest, Karma, Jasmine or Struts 2.0
  • Experience with Java open source frameworks including Spring, Hibernate, XML Beans
