Network SME - Remote (Preferred Northeast US)
job summary: We're hiring a Network Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large-scale infrastructure initiative for a leading public sector client. This is a fully remote opportunity (Northeast U.S. preferred) requiring deep hands-on experience in routing/switching, Cisco ACI SDN, and enterprise network security. location: Tallahassee, Florida job type: Contract salary: $70 - 75 per hour work hours: 8am to 6pm education: Bachelors responsibilities:
- Support and optimize large-scale LAN, WAN, and VPN environments
- Troubleshoot critical network issues across Cisco Nexus, F5, firewalls, and Azure environments
- Manage network security, Wi-Fi infrastructure, cabling, DNS/DHCP/IP (Infoblox), and encryptors
- Integrate monitoring tools like SolarWinds with EventOps for streamlined observability
qualifications:
- 8+ years in network infrastructure roles
- Expertise with Routing & Switching, Cisco ACI (SDN), VPN, and Infoblox
- Experience with Azure networking, F5 load balancing, and network encryption
- Certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or Azure preferred
skills:
- Design, implement, and support LAN/WAN/VPN infrastructure
- Troubleshoot complex network issues
- Optimize delivery, broker, and security services
- Integrate monitoring tools (SolarWinds → EventOps)
- Support ACI, firewalls, Azure networks, load balancers
- Document topology, incidents, and configurations
- Participate in on-call and incident rotations
