Civil Engineer - Entry Level

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Civil Engineer – Entry Level in one of the below posting locations. In this role you will work with local municipalities and other clients alongside our experienced engineers to plan, design and manage a variety of projects including commercial, industrial, municipal, water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure. Posting Location for this role: Effingham, IL Job Activities:
- Responsible for technical aspects of civil municipal projects including potable water, sanitary and storm sewer, water resources, grading, site improvements, and roadways
- Report directly to project/client manager to provide the technical support needed for deliverables
- Perform onsite construction observation to verify adherence to plans and specifications, measure/document project quantities for payment to contractor(s), and provide status updates to Project Manager and Client
- Monitor work completed relative to project schedule and budget
- Communicate with other Project Stakeholders, Owners, Farnsworth Group team members, regulatory agencies, and contractors
- Work in AutoCAD to design improvements, measure quantities, and create exhibits
- Prepare and develop construction documents and plans
- Prepare permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies as necessary
- Assist with business development efforts
Specific Requirements include:
- BS in Civil Engineering
- 0-2 years of engineering experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil3D a plus
- Proficiency or willingness to learn modeling (WaterCAD, SewerCAD, InfoWorks)
