AECI 2: The NYC Charter High School for Computer Engineering & Innovation Position: Security Guard, High School Grades 9-12 AECI 2 The New York City Charter High School for Architecture Engineering & Construction Industries is a high school located in the South Bronx. We employ research proven strategies to raise our students? academic achievement. We received national recognition from US News and World Reports for being a high performing charter high school and are high ranking in district 7 for impact and performance. We seek to develop the academic and social skills in our students which will help them build a foundation for the challenges of high school and the skills necessary for college and careers in the 21 century. Our school has earned a 97% student graduation rate, with many of our students achieving Advanced Regents diplomas and receiving scholarships to college. We work extensively to promote academic, moral, and character development in all students so they may learn the various aspects of tolerance, respect, and understanding for one another. This position is open for the 2025-2026 school year. The Position: Security Guard, High School Responsibilities ? Monitor and assist with student entry and exit throughout the day ? Cafeteria duty to monitor and maintain order during student lunch periods ? Assist with student movement during change of period throughout the day ? Attend weekly meetings addressing current issues in the workplace ? Attend professional development sessions when provided throughout the school year ? Work overtime when necessary in order to cover athletic sporting events, open house, parent-teacher conferences, student activities and other various high school events ? Assist in moving students to proper locations during fire drills, special assemblies and events ? Ensure the safety of students under your supervision ? Encourage and ensure that students adhere to all school policies. (Uniform, Cell Phones, ID?s, etc...) Qualifications ? Must have security guard certification for both 8 hour and 16 hour class ? High School experience preferred but not required ? Desire to work in a teacher ? driven, student - centered environment ? Ability to work well with colleagues ? Ability to communicate effectively and often with parents and families ?
