Position: GEAR UP Site Director (Grove, Oklahoma) Position Details Position Information Position Title GEAR UP Site Director (Grove, Oklahoma) Position Number 100080 FTE 1.0 FLSA Exempt Pay Rate $65,000 annually, plus benefits Position Type Full-Time Posting Detail Posting Number 281 Essential Function Serve as the GEAR UP Director for an individual school site by coordinating intervention activities in designated Oklahoma middle and high school sites. The intervention activities are associated with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education's (OSRHE) GEAR UP project - a federally funded initiative aimed at student early awareness and readiness for college. The GEAR UP project serves all students including people of color, people from low income backgrounds and first-generation college students. This position is contingent upon continued availability of grant funds. Responsibilities and Duties Implement a district career pathway program (grades 7-12) to support students in their pursuit of post - • secondary education. Emphasis being in middle grades. • Assist with the organization and completion of Fall ACT, Pre ACT, Pre-Act-8-testing for eighth grade Sophomore and Junior students. Provide student-level data feedback to students and faculty at designated sites. • Organize and promote initiatives that enhance student achievement and preparation for post-secondary education (College and Career Week, College Application Day/Week, FAFSA, GEAR UP Week, Connect U etc.) • Organize and participate in campus tours for students. • Implement and provide mentoring for students, specifically students who have barriers to post-secondary planning and options. • Organize and manage financial aid events for students/parents. (FAFSA; OKpromise, scholarships; etc.) • Present or schedule grade level (7-12) seminar topics. • Meet individually/in groups with students and parents to encourage and support their enrollment in concurrent coursework at the college level. • Support staff and student implementing Link Crew student advocacy program. • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with GEAR UP and OSRHE staff. • Assist with local, state and federal reporting activities associated with the GEAR UP grant. • Lead GEAR UP school administrators and faculty through activities for collecting and analyzing student assessment data. • Support faculty and administration in selecting MS math professional development based on past trainings and student achievement data. • Coordinate projects and activities with College Coaches that serve on the Higher Education campus. • Participate in professional development selected to stay abreast of national college access efforts. • Serve as a learning leader to GEAR UP school sites by meeting and working with designated school staff on a regular basis. Work will be in the designated K-12 district daily. • Work with Faculty Support Coordinator to support the mission of GEAR UP at the local district(s). • Coordinate local advisory board meetings twice annually in assigned school. • Organize and support the budgeting and implementation plan development that takes place annually in the • school district. • Maintain confidentiality with student, school and fiscal data. • Support the mission of GEAR UP with additional duties as needed to fulfill the grant goals.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in education or related discipline with three (3) or more years of relevant experience is required. Knowledge of college access issues and trends is important. Candidate must be skilled at presentations before both small and large groups. Candidate must have the ability to work independently with excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate integrity, high expectation, commitment, respect, and passion for a student-centered environment. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work with time lines and deadlines. Daily attendance and punctuality at work are required. Candidate must have the ability and willingness for extensive travel, both in-state and out-of-state with some overnight.
