As a Train Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains throughout our network. Monitor and control the movement of trains throughout the network to ensure safe and efficient operations. Communicate with train crews, dispatchers, and other rail personnel to coordinate train movements and resolve any operational issues. Utilize computer systems and other tools to track train locations, speeds, and schedules. Make quick and accurate decisions in response to changing conditions, such as weather, track maintenance, and train delays. Coordinate with other departments, such as mechanical and engineering, to ensure timely and safe movement of trains. Maintain a thorough understanding of railroad operations and safety procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and protocols. Monitor and report on train movements and delays to management and other stakeholders. Identify and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during train operations, taking appropriate action to resolve them. Train and mentor new dispatchers as needed. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to continuously improve skills and knowledge. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including train crews, customers, and other railroad personnel. Collaborate with other dispatchers and departments to continuously improve processes and procedures. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to train movements and dispatching activities.
