Equipment Operator

About the position R. E. Janes Gravel Co. is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy machinery such as front end loaders and excavators for the extraction, movement, and loading of sand and gravel. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and safety-minded, with experience in heavy equipment operation and general maintenance. This role involves working outdoors and assisting plant and shop crews as needed. Responsibilities • Safely operate Wheel Loader, Excavator, Dozer, and other heavy machinery. , • Load trucks and feed bins with various aggregate materials. , • Verify that the proper product and quantity is being loaded on each truck. , • Move earth or material from one location to another. , • Perform paving/grading work. , • Conduct daily routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation. , • Maintain the appearance of equipment, including proper air pressure in tires and fluid levels, and perform minor repairs as needed. , • Ensure safety, compliance, and environmental requirements are followed at all times. , • Complete all necessary paperwork as required by the direct supervisor. , • Perform other miscellaneous duties as required. Requirements • High School Diploma or GED preferred. , • Minimum of one year experience operating heavy equipment. , • Must be able to follow directions in English or Spanish. , • Valid Driver's License required. , • Ability to work outdoors. , • Must be able to regularly lift up to 75 pounds. , • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, crawl, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
