The Event & Conferences team is looking for a talented and experienced Event Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a variety of corporate events, including conferences, meetings, and special functions. This individual will work from our headquarters in Cincinnati, OH. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities • Plans, organizes, and executes all aspects for meetings and / or special events, including conferences, dinners, hospitality events, meetings, special events, and other functions. • Coordinates and participates in developing tracking processes and procedures for registration / attendance, special needs, scheduling, and event participation. • Coordinates and participates in developing communications, including invitations, confirmations, collateral, meeting materials, etc. • Participates in preparing event budgets and ensuring events stay within budget. Maintains records of expenses. • May participate in negotiating services and contracts with service providers. • Attends events to ensure adherence to protocol and to address any arising issues. • May gather and report on post-event feedback from attendees. • Coordinates logistics for the venue and amenities. Participates in recommending themes, presenters, guests, and / or activities that support business goals. • Researches and / or selects a location and / or facility. • Researches and recommends menu and beverage selections. • Arranges transportation and / or accommodations. • Coordinates all presentation requirements, including seating arrangements, multimedia equipment, and meeting documentation. • Builds a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with customers, agents, and / or service providers. Provides excellent customer service. • Maintains strong relationships with other functional areas (communications, travel, technology, etc.) necessary to accomplish tasks. • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the organization, business / industry, and customers. • Maintains current knowledge of event trends, event management protocol and best practices. • Previous experience with Cvent or similar event management software is preferred. • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office 365 applications is required. • May provide guidance and assistance to lower-level positions. • Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements • Associate degree or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. • Public Relations, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline. • Generally, 5 years of event planning or other related experience. • Overnight travel of 5 - 10% based upon business needs.
