Job Location: REMOTE Anticipated Start Date: 04/16/2025 Number of Positions: 2 Salary Range: $165,000-$375,000 The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$375,000 plus bonus eligibility and other elements of our total rewards package. The range represents the amount bnsf | tech reasonably expects to pay for the position based on the level, scope, and responsibilities of the role. Individual compensation is determined by the hiring location and additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package. As a Sr Software Engineer, you will • Design and development of robust, scalable, and secure software applications. • Work on both front-end and back-end development, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices. • Implement and manage testing processes to ensure the quality and reliability of the applications. • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver comprehensive solutions. • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering their growth and development. Basic Qualifications • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future. • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with demonstrated success delivering enterprise-scale solutions. • Fluency and specialization with technologies such as such as Java, Springboot, Javascript, Angular, Kafka, Oracle, Mongo DB, Docker, Openshift and Graffana. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education or work experience. • Familiarity with cloud services. • Experience building the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems. • Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code. • Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments. • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. • Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication). • Experience in testing methodologies using frameworks such as Junit, Spock testing framework, etc. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in Rail, Shipping, Airline, Logistics, Warehousing, Supply Chain, or other Transportation industries or experience in a High-Tech industry. • Experience leveraging Sisense, EFK, Dynatrace, Mapbox, IDP/OIDC, Electron and Stunnel.
