Director, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships

Location: Nashville, TN, San Francisco, CA, or Remote - USA We seek a leader who is highly skilled in B2B strategic partnerships and business development. The leader should have a track record building partnerships across complex business programs and products to executive leadership of fortune 1000 companies. The ideal leader has experience selling across several vertical sectors, can navigate complex organizations, and can quickly identify an economic buyer, gatekeepers and influencers needed to secure a partnership. As Director of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships at Asurion, you will play a crucial role in our growth through identifying and securing strategic partnerships. Working closely with our product, technology and Go-To-Market leadership team, you will identify and cultivate relationships and set growth strategies that chart new avenues for business expansion. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Asurion’s business development strategy, aligning with product, technology and Go-To-Market approach.
  • Identify, negotiate, and establish strategic partnerships with complementary businesses, technology providers, and industry leaders through personal and professional network.
  • Develop and lead multi-level relationship strategies to align exec teams ensuring access and ability to influence outcomes.
  • Lead Asurion’s partner-facing pitch and overall strategic narrative, employing exceptional communication skills and skilled financial acumen to make compelling case to economic buyer.
  • Establish authentic, trust-based relationships with prospective partners based on learning what matters to them, solving their challenges and exceeding expectations through thoughtful and diligent deal execution.
  • Work with internal product and technology teams to identify and oversee integration opportunities with partner technologies.
  • Lead complex deal negotiations and structure agreements that align with Asurion’s strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, product, and legal teams to execute partnership strategies.
  • Lead by example, inspire and get the best out of teammates particularly in our solutions, product, marketing, and operations functions.
  • Own readout of development strategies and financial analysis and forecasting to C-Suite and Executive Committee members in regular sales pipeline and strategic account reviews.
  • Employ a disciplined and structured approach to deal analysis and employ appropriate conversion funnel metrics to improve the sales engine.
  • Deploy sales management processes to qualify and prioritize leads, inspect and coach on in-flight deals, and nurture longer lead time Enterprise deals.
  • Partner with Business Development leadership to recruit and develop talent within organization.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of total business-related experience working in one or more of these: strategy/management consulting, business development, strategic partnerships
  • Proven track record of successfully establishing and managing high-value partnerships
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent negotiation and deal-structuring skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with C-level executives and key stakeholders
  • Has developed strong network of colleagues and peers via personal and professional engagement.
  • Self-starter, goal-oriented, and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert data-driven decision making, analysis and recommendation with a mastery program metric sensitivity
  • Innovative, agile and creative thinking
  • Exceptional strategic and analytical expertise with ability to take ideas and assemble concepts/solutions for communication to different levels of the organization is required
  • Ability to build consensus cross-functionally to achieve results; strong bias for action
  • Organizational leadership and team development (leads through influence)
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple complex projects in a cross functional environment concurrently
  • Travel 30%+ to partner sites
  • Ability to accommodate partner time zone if different from current location
