Essential Functions

  • Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to build performant applications
  • Build compelling data processing workflows utilizing a variety of technologies: RDBMS, noSQL, parallel processing frameworks, and unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • This role participates in technical reviews and audits of the application and provide feedback to peers through code reviews and merge requests.
  • They are required to grasp new material quickly and thrive in a fast-paced development environment. They should demonstrate excellent software design and technical decision-making skills to meet solution needs.
  • They should be a self-starter, confident, creative, an effective communicator and a team player.
  • This role should be pragmatic and effectively prioritizes, estimate, and scope software deliverables.
  • Can solve problems independently and learns new technologies when appropriate.
  • Applies research and conducts POCs to validate designs.
  • Mentors junior engineers.
  • Conducts design reviews and can explain technical concepts to stake holders.
  • Can document analysis, design, requirements, and test cases effectively.
  • Independently manages quality of code for all check-ins.
  • Education and Experience

  • BS/master’s in computer science
  • Minimum eight plus years of equivalent industry experience
  • Or other role-related combination of years of experience and education
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert programming skills in relevant languages.
  • Strong analytical, design, problem solving skills and customer focus.
  • Good understanding and experience in software architecture/software engineering.
  • Good understanding and experience in continuous software delivery.
  • Strong understanding of business and/or technology domain.
