Responsibilities

As a Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant, your core responsibilities will include • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards. • Ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met. • Coordinating with the external auditors, providing all necessary information and addressing their queries. • Preparing annual and quarterly statutory filings. • Assisting in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements. • Liaising with various stakeholders to gather all necessary data for financial reporting. • Providing technical accounting advice to the wider finance team. • Supporting the finance team with ad hoc projects and tasks as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant position should possess the following qualifications • A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance accounting. • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA would be an advantage. • Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts. • Profound knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders. • Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
