Reporting Analyst III

This position contributes to reporting and forecasting efforts through the research, analysis, design, programming, implementation and coordination of accurate and timely reporting systems for the division. Ensures integrity of databases and program files for departmental use via extensive division contact. • Analyzes reporting needs, available data, and various methods of data retrieval to develop systems which are responsive to the needs of the department. • Develops and maintains production reporting capabilities and monitors the timely and accurate production and distribution of standard and ad hoc reports. • Provides statistical and analytical support to the division for continuing and special needs utilizing various software packages to extract and analyze data. • Manages ad hoc reporting requests and assigns to staff. • Manages the design and development of new reporting processes and assigns and trains staff to maintain processing once implemented. • Serves as technical resource for the division. • Provides requested reporting for compliance with mandates and DOBI required reporting. • Supports the broker area with payment reporting or appropriate bonus payment calculations. • Performs other duties as assigned by management. • Personal and professional attributes that are critical to successful performance for Individual Contributors: Customer Focus, Accountable, Communication Education/Experience • Minimum high school diploma or GED • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics preferred • Requires a minimum of five (5) years' experience in health insurance, financial or actuarial fields utilizing statistics and programming applications. • Requires experience with data related applications in the PC environment. • Prefers experience working with Horizon BCBSNJ systems, i.e. NMS, NASCO, EDW. • Prefer strong programming languages with SAS & SQL Knowledge • Prefer knowledge of user-oriented programming languages including SAS & SQL. • Prefer knowledge of Horizon BCBSNJ products and files. • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and supporting software in a Windows based environment, including MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Should be knowledgeable in the use of intranet and internet applications. • Must be proficient in Access. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
