Sr. Manager, Category Optimization A role as a Sr. Manager, Category Optimization means leading and developing a high-performing team of Category Merchants responsible for developing overall visual strategies and aiding in their implementation. You will work with broader teams to determine assortment, merchandising, fixture elements, store layouts, and in-store behaviors. Through cross-functional collaboration, instinct, and creativity, you will be the expert on the guest, the market, and the competition. As Sr. Manager, Category Optimization, you will lead and mentor a team of Category Merchants, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities. You will foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, empowering your team members to succeed and achieve their full potential. You will work directly with several facets of the business, including HQ partners, vendors, and the field team. You will develop key partnerships, influence overall merchandising strategies, develop rollout plans for large-scale initiatives, and often work alongside store teams to coach, teach, and train behaviors. Your flexibility in reacting to business results and your ability to translate financial metrics and data into actionable strategies will be critical. You will interact with Buyers, Operations Managers, Planning, Fixture Teams, Store Design, Vendors, Project Managers, Initiative Directors, Pyramid Leadership, Field Directors, Store Associates, Third-party merchandisers, Category Managers, Real Estate, and many other expert partners in support of merchandising execution. You will thrive in an ambiguous environment, effectively navigating complexities and leading your team through change. You will possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide your team towards achieving ambitious goals. You will be a strong communicator, effectively articulating your vision and strategies to both your team and cross-functional partners. You will also possess strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and influence large-scale initiatives, ensuring successful execution and achieving desired outcomes. About you: • Four-year degree or equivalent experience • 2+ years of experience leading and managing a team • 4+ years of Merchandising experience • Strong strategic and analytical skills • Strong collaboration skills to partner with Cross-Functional Teams • Strong understanding of Produce and Floral merchandising • Flexibility to travel and/or work occasional “off hours†in stores for resets • Comfort with PowerPoint, Excel, Word • Experience with POGs and Visual Adjacencies • Great communication skills • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced environment This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs.  A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.  A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
