Part-Time Instructor for the Education Department
About the position Mount Saint Mary's University is seeking a qualified part-time instructor for the Education Department to teach a course in Social Studies and the Arts during the Spring 2025 semester. The course will be conducted online in a synchronous format and will focus on effective planning and teaching strategies for social studies and the arts in elementary education. The instructor will collaborate with an Arts instructor and engage with students in K-12 and college settings. Responsibilities Teach the course EDU 155/255: Social Studies and the Arts in an online format. , Collaborate with an Arts instructor to deliver integrated curriculum. , Apply the 'Backwards Design' model of curriculum design for lesson planning. , Utilize varied instructional strategies and multiple means of assessment. , Support English language learners in the classroom. Requirements Master's degree in Education or a related field. , Current experience working with K-12 and college students. Nice-to-haves Prior teaching experience in social studies or arts education.
