Remote Special Education Teacher - Full-Time Virtual Position

We are actively seeking a passionate and committed Special Education Teacher to deliver targeted instruction and support to students with individualized educational requirements. This remote role entails overseeing a caseload of up to 35 students, with adaptable duties throughout the week, which include both virtual instruction and participation in in-person state testing. Key Responsibilities • Assess students’ skills and educational needs through standardized testing to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their unique requirements. • Effectively communicate evaluation outcomes to parents and general education teachers, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. • Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that adhere to federal special education regulations. • Work in partnership with parents and school personnel to monitor and advance students’ progress. • Maintain proactive communication with families, responding to inquiries within 24 hours. • Build strong relationships with students and their families to cultivate a nurturing learning environment. • Conduct virtual meetings to facilitate progress towards IEP goals. • Provide families with useful strategies and resources to support their child’s learning at home. • Adapt teaching materials to accommodate the diverse needs of students. • Regularly assess students' progress using measurable data to refine teaching strategies. • Collaborate with school administration to ensure alignment and support regarding student evaluations. • Organize special education meetings, ensuring the timely participation of all necessary stakeholders. • Engage in continuous professional development through in-service training sessions. • Offer weekly office hours for students and parents to address questions and concerns. • Undertake additional duties as assigned to support the educational mission. Live Virtual Instruction • Deliver engaging virtual classes for students from Monday to Thursday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM (ET). • Utilize online learning tools to provide interactive and effective lessons. • Evaluate student performance through virtual assessments and discussions. State Testing • Assist in proctoring state-mandated standardized tests, ensuring a supportive testing atmosphere. • Follow testing protocols and provide necessary assistance to students. • Collaborate with administration to coordinate testing schedules and material distribution. Required Skills • Proficient in leveraging digital learning platforms and instructional technology. • Strong skills in classroom management within both virtual and traditional settings. • Excellent collaboration capabilities with fellow educators and staff. • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Qualifications • Current teaching experience in an applicable educational setting is preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred). • Valid special education teacher license in Indiana. • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, ideally encompassing both virtual and in-person environments.
