MovieWeb: Weekday Evening News Editor: Movies & TV Content

This is a freelance remote position. Founded in 1995, MovieWeb.com is the premier online destination for movie enthusiasts, providing the latest news and information on casting and development, release dates, trailers, interviews and clips, full movies, and more. MovieWeb keeps users connected to all their favorites, past, present, and future. As a top social entertainment network, MovieWeb is revolutionizing the way you DISCOVER, WATCH and DISCUSS the movies you love. Please note that this role does not involve video editing or script editing. Responsibilities: • Edit and publish a minimum of 8 movie/TV articles per day on the Movie/TV News team • Assure there is content to be published and planned on current News topics • Participate in writer development and general writer management • Oversee and facilitate writer communication in Slack/Asana • Send feedback to writers according to MovieWeb's standards (as per our writing guides) • Work with new writers to develop their skills... and help them adapt to MovieWeb's standards • Work with existing writers to develop those suitable for internal development (staff writing, self-publishing, editing) • Auditing Content Value and implementing best practices • Ensure daily and monthly News output goals are met • Ideation and news sourcing support • Must be available weekday evenings Only applicants who possess the necessary skills and experience will be contacted, and only applications containing a resume and cover letter will be considered.
