Barnes & Noble Education is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Proposal Coordinator to support with the development of RFI, RFP and proactive proposal responses. The Proposal Coordinator will be responsible for developing proposal outlines that meet RFI, RFP and proactive proposal requirements, while communicating BNC’s industry-leading solutions that differentiates BNC from the competition. How You'll Make An Impact • Work in tandem with marketing, new business development team, and territory offices to prepare proposals (RFPs) • Develop proposal outlines, organize, and compile all components, capture technical information from subject matter experts, develop proofs, etc. • Formatting proposal documents using InDesign to ensure they are properly formatted, compliant with RFP requirements, easy to read, and visually appealing • Ensure submission deadlines and milestones are met, sending reminders to team ahead of the due date and starting escalation process when someone is late • Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of RFP templates and creation of document library and FAQ • Maintain a clear understanding of current service and product capabilities and value statements that can be incorporated into proposals • Support general marketing projects • Additional responsibilities as required What You'll Need To Succeed • 1-3 years overall experience in marketing/communications, including writing and editing, development of marketing materials, marketing plan development, and/or public relations. • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations or related field preferred • Knowledge and understanding of the RFP response field and formal proposal development processes such as the Shipley method is required • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, InDesign and Photoshop • Strong project management skills and adept at multitasking to ensure timely completion of objectives • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to competing deadlines • Strong organization and collaboration skills with a keen attention to detail How We Elevate Our Employees We believe your success is our success, so our benefits package is designed specifically to support you in every aspect of your life. The hiring rate for this position is $22 - 25 / hour. The actual pay may vary based on a number of factors, including professional experience, hiring location, skills, competencies, and may fall outside of the range shown.
