Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues to develop personalized IEPs through the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee process. Implement engaging instructional programs tailored to students' abilities and goals outlined in their IEPs. Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to accommodate individual learning needs. Provide support to students in regular classrooms, ensuring they can fully participate in class activities. Prepare for and participate in ARD Committee meetings, actively contributing insights on student progress and proposed modifications. Assess student learning styles through formal and informal evaluations, using the results to inform instructional strategies. Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth. Maintain open communication with students, parents, and community stakeholders, seeking their input and support as needed. Uphold professional standards and ethical conduct in all interactions with students, colleagues, and community members. Stay informed about best practices in special education and actively participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Valid teaching certificate with special education endorsements. Certification (required within six months of employment). Knowledge of special education processes, including the ARD Committee and IEP goal-setting. Strong consultation and collaboration skills. Minimum of one year of student teaching or approved internship experience. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise assigned instructional assistants/aides and provide support as needed. Assist in the supervision of student teachers and volunteers. Working Conditions Mental Demands: Effective communication, instructional skills, and maintaining emotional composure under stress. Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Regular standing, bending, and lifting; potential exposure to communicable diseases and challenging student behaviors. Employment Type: Full-Time Apply Job!
