MOTION + GRAPHIC DESIGNER

ROLE Darling is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer with a strong foundation in motion design to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who can move fluidly between static design work and animated content, bringing brand stories to life across digital platforms. Designers often have direct client contact to help make decisions faster and to cut out the game of telephone. While the position is fully remote, we’re looking for candidates based in or around the NYC area to align with team collaborations and occasional in-person meetups. DARLING Darling is a small but mighty creative shop with global roots. We don’t believe in hierarchy. Everyone has a voice, and all voices are heard at Darling. Brainstorms can be full of strategists, designers, account people and office managers - along with the usual mix of creatives and copywriters. We are a fully remote agency, but gather quarterly for darling field trips and celebrations. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create motion graphics, animated logos, video intros/outros, and short-form animated content
• Develop and maintain visual brand consistency across both static and motion deliverables
• Translate strategy and creative direction into clear, executable design intent
• Edit and enhance video content with motion graphics, titles and transitions
• Design and animate engaging visual content for social media, web, advertising and internal/external presentations
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Stay current on design and motion trends, tools and techniques to keep output fresh and competitive
• Present concepts and design rationale to stakeholders and incorporate feedback effectively

MUST-HAVES

• 2–3 years of professional experience in graphic design with a dedicated focus on motion design
• A portfolio of design work representing skill, style and personal interest
• Solid understanding of design fundamentals: typography, layout, color theory and composition
• Solid understanding of motion fundamentals: composition, pacing and visual storytelling
• Experience designing for digital and social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Proficiency with After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator and Photoshop is required
• Possess the hunger to grow and learn under the guidance of art/creative directors
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
• Must be imaginative, resourceful, and able to handle multiple projects efficiently and to a high standard
• Ability to work methodically to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• College degree in a related field

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Familiarity with Premiere Pro or other video editing software
• Knowledge of basic UI/UX animation principles for web or app interfaces
• Illustration skills (vector or hand-drawn)
• Experience with web design + building (specifically Webflow)
• Experience working within an agency, in-house creative team or startup environment
• Familiarity with Figma or other collaborative design tools

ATTENDANCE This role operates within a fully remote agency. Given its leadership and collaborative nature, visibility is essential. When working remotely, availability for video meetings is required – on‑camera participation is mandatory. Visibility, communication, and responsiveness are critical in this role. • Salary range of $55,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience
