[Remote] Mechanical Engineering Scholar (Phd) | $65/hr Remote
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Crossing Hurdles is looking for a STEM Expert with a focus on Mechanical Engineering for a short-term contract position. The role involves reviewing AI training problems and ensuring their scientific realism and grading accuracy, along with providing constructive feedback.
Responsibilities
- Review AI training problems and research environments built for a frontier AI lab
- Assess whether problems are scientifically realistic, well-designed, and correctly graded
- Review problem quality without solving the problems yourself
- Check whether the grading logic and expected outputs are appropriate
- Identify issues in problem design, assumptions, or evaluation quality
- Provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations
- Write clear and structured review comments
- Complete tasks that usually take 30 90 minutes each
Skills
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to start immediately
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations
- Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering concepts
- Expertise or Knowledge of Python
- Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting
- Reliable desktop/laptop with stable internet connection
- Availability to work around 15 hours over the next few days
- 4 hours overlap with PST
