[Remote] Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will assist in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring accurate financial information is available for strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Compiles, verifies, and analyzes financial information so Senior Management has accurate and timely information to make strategic and operational decisions
- Serves as a liaison among Finance Directors and Accounting Dept on fiscal related concerns when balancing grants/ budgets
- Supports the Annual Federal Budget Process: preparation of workpapers, schedules, narratives, and budget submission
- Conducts reconciliation of Budget to Actuals reports, Trial Balance reports, and PMS Cash reports in preparation of federal filing submissions
- Prepares and incorporates all Budget imports into accounting software
- Compiles work papers that are utilized for Reforecasts and Budgeting cycles
- Conducts quarterly Non-Federal Share reviews with Finance Directors and communicates deficits to corresponding parties
- Prepares Non-Federal Share waivers and One Time Funding requests as required
- Maintains and assists with departmental databases utilized by internal partners (i.e., VenaVENA, Tableau, etc.)
- Works directly with consultants / vendors on report design as needed
- Works on moderately complex financial modeling
- Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required
- Assists the Delegates with budget software support, as needed
- Provides Delegates with System Support Training, as needed
- Assist with any special requests or ad hoc projects
- Performs any and all other duties (or functions) as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Finance, Accounting or Financial Planning and Analysis experience; or similar function with analytical responsibilities
- Physical exam and background checks are required for this position
- Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions
- Must have a valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation
- Exhibit Project management skills
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills, especially using Google Suite apps, spreadsheets, basic data management systems and internet navigation
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Vlookups, formulas, pivot tables; comfortable using large data sets and translating into Financial Models/Analysis
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Must be honest, dependable, and able to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
