[Remote] Sr. Structural Analysis Engineer - REMOTE

Averro is a company focused on supporting the space exploration industry, and they are seeking a Sr. Structural Analysis Engineer for a remote position. The role involves performing structural, functional, and dynamic analyses to ensure the integrity and performance of mechanical systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural and functional analyses to validate system performance under operational and transient conditions
- Evaluate mechanism behavior, timing, clearances, and load paths during critical events and dynamic scenarios
- Assess performance under nominal and off-nominal operating conditions
- Analyze test fixtures, support structures, and instrumentation hardware subjected to static and dynamic loading
- Verify the capability of test equipment and associated interfaces under mechanical, fluid, and electrical operating conditions
- Support qualification and verification activities for ground systems and hardware
- Perform analyses of support structures, mechanical assemblies, and integrated systems subjected to operational, thermal, and environmental loads
- Evaluate stiffness, strength, and stability requirements to ensure structural integrity and performance
- Develop hand calculations and finite element models to support design verification and validation
- Perform static, dynamic, thermal, and load path analyses
- Document analysis results in formal reports supporting design reviews and hardware release activities
- Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and drafting teams to optimize structural performance and support design decisions
- Support troubleshooting, failure investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, specifications, and safety requirements
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering
- Experience with stress analysis tools and methodologies
- Experience performing structural analysis using both classical hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA)
- Proficiency with industry-standard analysis tools such as ANSYS, Nastran, Abaqus, or equivalent
- Knowledge of structural analysis methods including: Static analysis, Dynamic analysis, Thermal analysis, Load path evaluation, Strength and stiffness assessments
