[Remote] Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

They are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to transform clinical and operational data into insights that support patient care and operational efficiency, collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and gather requirements for Epic reporting solutions
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom reports within the Epic reporting framework, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data
  • Utilize Epic's reporting tools to create and enhance reports based on end-user needs
  • Work with Epic analysts and end users to troubleshoot and resolve reporting functionality or data integrity issues
  • Collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to integrate Epic reporting solutions with other systems and data sources
  • Provide training and support to end users on utilizing and interpreting Epic reports
  • Participate in the planning and execution of system upgrades and enhancements related to Epic reporting
  • Document technical specifications, data mappings, and report configurations in our enterprise data catalog
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies in developing and maintaining Epic reports
  • Gather, prepare and analyze user requirements to create complex reports and moderately complex to advanced dashboards, utilizing enterprise data systems (such as Epic Slicer Dicer, Caboodle & Clarity, SAP/Crystal, Business Objects, etc.)
  • Participate in code reviews, including reviewing code of others
  • Perform change management when reporting system modifications are needed
  • Follow and assist in the development of build, configuration and release management processes and meet user and technical documentation standards as set by CCHMC
  • Utilize and contribute to the CCHMC information glossary to refer to governed definitions when analyzing and creating reports
  • Develop end-user education strategies and develop or oversee the development of end-user materials for end user training, adoption and education
  • Provide detailed ad hoc analysis for hospital departments and divisions
  • Develop mastery of specific hospital data domains and provide consultation to customers and other technical staff
  • Mentor junior members of the team related to specific technical skills as well as troubleshooting skills, departmental processes and general professionalism
  • Continually develop professional skills and assist with the development of others
  • Maintain Epic certifications where appropriate, including obtaining additional certifications in other modules
  • Expand oral and written communication skills, particularly related to translating customer requirements into BI solutions
  • Plan and execute testing plans
  • Timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Accurate & timely communication of status
  • Effectively balance multiple concurrent project assignments
  • Develop task priorities and timelines
  • Identify recurrent technical support issues and develop solutions
  • Serve as project manager for complex projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Analyze Business Intelligence requests to align with existing tools and processes, as well as develop new processes and investigate new tools where appropriate
  • Use troubleshooting skills to effectively support Business Intelligence solutions and assist others in solving escalated issues
  • Develop support plans for new solutions
  • Escalate unresolved issues with urgency
  • Seek the appropriate resources needed for activities with multiple tasks
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication between internal and external parties on assigned tasks and related issues
  • Be personally accountable for commitments to projects

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
  • Previous clinical experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is a plus
  • Certification in Epic's Cogito Administration or relevant Epic certifications
  • Proven experience in report development within the Epic reporting environment, including familiarity with Clarity or Caboodle
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulations, including HIPAA, and the ability to ensure compliance with report development
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Familiarity with Epic modules and their underlying data structures is highly desirable
