[Remote] Product Engineering Technician

The New Product Development Technician provides hands-on engineering support for new product development initiatives, focusing on prototype assembly, testing, and documentation while offering technical leadership across multiple business units.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a driving force and technical leader in the execution of new technology development projects
- Participate in technical design reviews and operational risk assessments, including HazID and HazOP activities
- Support the assembly, integration, and testing of prototype and first-article products
- Assist in developing operational, testing, qualification, FAT, and offshore readiness procedures
- Perform CAD work to support prototype design, development, and test assemblies
- Prepare systems, equipment, and personnel for onsite and offsite project campaigns
- Recommend and support design modifications to existing equipment as needed
- Assist in the design and development of specialized test equipment and fixtures
- Prepare scopes of supply and project-specific documentation
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, and testing phases of development projects
- Support onsite, offsite, and occasional offshore testing activities
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support organizational objectives
Skills
- Minimum 2 years of formal technical training or 4 years of progressive experience in electrical/electronic assembly
- Minimum 3 years of experience interpreting, redlining, and modifying complex electrical schematics
- Minimum 3 years of soldering and electrical assembly experience
- Experience working with high-voltage systems (>680V)
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with standard software tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience analyzing electrical control circuits for functionality, loads, and failure modes
- High School Diploma or GED; Technical degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Hydraulic Engineering
- Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software
- Familiarity with subsea controls and offshore operations
- Working knowledge of ROV systems, IWOCS, Workover Systems, Robotics system, and Tooling packages
- Understanding of 5S and Lean principles; 5S Champion or related certification preferred
- Valid forklift certification
- Valid overhead crane certification
- Ability to obtain TWIC, passport, and required offshore certifications. Ability to travel and work in challenging environments, including offshore and remote locations
