arenaflex is at the forefront of redefining how consumers interact with retail environments. By leveraging cutting‑edge automation, computer vision, and AI‑powered checkout solutions, arenaflex eliminates traditional friction points and empowers shoppers to simply walk out with their purchases. Our mission is to create seamless, frictionless experiences that delight customers, inspire loyalty, and set new industry standards. As a global leader in retail technology, arenaflex invests heavily in innovation, sustainability, and a culture that celebrates curiosity, collaboration, and bold thinking.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s rapidly evolving marketplace, the ability to test, validate, and launch new technology at customer sites is a critical differentiator. The Customer Experience Analyst (Contingent) will serve as the bridge between our engineering teams and the real‑world environments where our solutions come to life. This role directly influences product quality, customer satisfaction, and the strategic direction of arenaflex’s next‑generation retail experiences.

Role Overview

This is a contract position (11‑month term) that provides services to arenaflex through arenaflex. While you will be employed by arenaflex, you will operate as an independent contributor focused on field‑based program management, technology evaluation, and customer feedback synthesis. The position is remote‑first, with an expectation of up to 50 % domestic travel to customer sites across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Evaluation: Assess the functionality, reliability, and overall customer experience (CX) of emerging hardware and software solutions deployed in live retail environments.
  • Feedback Loop Creation: Capture detailed technical and CX observations, translate them into actionable insights, and deliver comprehensive feedback to development and product teams.
  • On‑Site Deployment: Travel to customer locations to install, configure, and calibrate new technology, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Customer Interaction: Conduct structured interviews, surveys, and observational studies to gather qualitative and quantitative data on shopper behavior and satisfaction.
  • Impact Quantification: Analyze collected data to measure the impact of new technology on checkout speed, error rates, and overall store performance.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Synthesize findings into clear, concise written reports and visual presentations for senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks, trade‑offs, and mitigation strategies, providing recommendations that balance innovation with operational stability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product management, operations, and retail partners to align project goals and timelines.

Essential Qualifications

  • A four‑year degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hands‑on product development experience in consumer hardware, including design, testing, and field deployment.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, both in writing and verbally, to diverse audiences ranging from engineers to retail staff.
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of using data to drive decisions, assess risk/reward scenarios, and influence product direction.
  • Demonstrated experience thriving in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments where priorities shift rapidly.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a customer‑obsessed mindset and the ability to build rapport quickly on site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (if not already covered by essential qualifications).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate data collection, analysis, or device configuration tasks.
  • Formal training or coursework in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, PMP, etc.).
  • Experience with retail technology deployments, point‑of‑sale systems, or similar large‑scale hardware rollouts.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) to create compelling stakeholder presentations.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Data Analysis: Ability to work with large datasets, perform statistical analysis, and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Technical Acumen: Understanding of hardware interfaces, networking basics, and software integration points.
  • Communication: Clear, concise writing and confident public speaking; adept at tailoring messages to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Problem Solving: Creative, solution‑oriented mindset with a focus on root‑cause analysis.
  • Project Management: Organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent deployments, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel up to 50 % of the time, often on short notice, to various U.S. hubs.

Compensation, Benefits, and Work Arrangement

arenaflex offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $38 – $42 per hour, commensurate with experience and expertise. As a contingent role, you will receive:

  • Flexible remote work setup with a home office stipend.
  • Travel reimbursement for mileage, lodging, and meals incurred during site visits.
  • Access to arenaflex’s learning portal, including courses on data analytics, project management, and emerging retail technologies.
  • Opportunities to network with senior engineers, product managers, and retail partners across the nation.
  • Inclusive, equal‑opportunity employment practices that value diversity of thought, background, and perspective.

Career Growth & Development

While this position is contract‑based, arenaflex views every engagement as a potential pathway to longer‑term collaboration. High‑performing analysts may be considered for full‑time roles in product management, UX research, or technical program leadership. The exposure to cutting‑edge retail tech, cross‑functional teams, and real‑world customer environments equips you with a unique skill set that is highly marketable across the tech and consumer goods sectors.
