Our commitment to responsible AI, data privacy, and inclusive design makes arenaflex the partner of choice for agencies seeking to modernize legacy workloads, accelerate citizen services, and future‑proof their technology investments.

Why This Role Matters

As a Customer Engineer III specializing in Application Modernization, you will be at the forefront of arenaflex’s mission to help public sector organizations transition from on‑premise, legacy environments to flexible, hybrid‑cloud architectures. You will partner directly with technical sales teams, product managers, and engineering specialists to design, prototype, and deliver solutions that solve complex business challenges while ensuring compliance, security, and performance. This role blends deep technical expertise with consultative selling, making you a trusted advisor to state, local, and federal customers.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Technical Advisory

  • Collaborate with sales and solution teams to identify, qualify, and prioritize business opportunities within the public sector.
  • Analyze technical objections, develop mitigation strategies, and articulate the business value of arenaflex Cloud solutions.
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert on enterprise infrastructure, hybrid‑cloud models, and application modernization pathways.

Customer Engagement & Architecture Design

  • Lead comprehensive assessments of customers’ legacy application portfolios, uncovering performance bottlenecks, security gaps, and migration constraints.
  • Craft detailed, phased modernization roadmaps that align with regulatory requirements, budgetary considerations, and strategic objectives.
  • Design and present scalable architectures leveraging API management, micro‑service frameworks, and Platform‑as‑a‑Service (PaaS) offerings.
  • Facilitate hands‑on prototyping workshops, proof‑of‑concept (PoC) implementations, and technical demos that validate proposed solutions.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with arenaflex product marketing, engineering, and product management to stay abreast of emerging trends, feature releases, and roadmap updates.
  • Provide feedback from the field to influence product enhancements that directly address public sector pain points.
  • Assist sales colleagues in responding to RFPs, creating solution briefs, and preparing technical content for bid submissions.

Thought Leadership & Advocacy

  • Represent arenaflex at industry conferences, government forums, and customer site visits, championing the benefits of hybrid‑cloud transformation.
  • Publish whitepapers, case studies, and best‑practice guides that showcase successful modernization initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing platforms to elevate the overall technical competency of the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 10 years of hands‑on experience designing, building, and modernizing cloud‑native applications, with a focus on legacy‑to‑cloud migration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in architectural design patterns, infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC), automation, containerization, virtualization, and networking.
  • Proven track record of supporting state or local government clients, understanding public‑sector compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, CJIS, or NIST.
  • Exceptional ability to engage technical stakeholders and executive leadership, delivering clear, persuasive presentations and technical briefings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing scalable architectures using API gateways, micro‑service platforms, and PaaS solutions on arenaflex Cloud.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js) and familiarity with modern development toolchains.
  • Exposure to the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management.
  • Certifications such as arenaflex Cloud Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or relevant security credentials.

Core Skills & Competencies
