About arenaflex – Pioneering Health Plan Excellence

arenaflex is a forward‑thinking health‑plan organization that blends cutting‑edge technology with compassionate care to deliver seamless, reliable health services across the United States. Our mission is to empower members, providers, and partners with accurate, timely information that drives better health outcomes. As a fully remote‑friendly employer, arenaflex embraces flexibility, diversity, and continuous learning, creating an environment where every employee can thrive while contributing to a vital industry.

Why This Role Matters

The Provider Data Entry Specialist is the backbone of arenaflex’s provider network integrity. Every piece of demographic and contractual data you enter directly influences the accuracy of claims processing, provider payments, and member satisfaction. In a landscape where data precision is synonymous with regulatory compliance and financial health, your meticulous work ensures that providers are correctly represented, contracts are honored, and the entire ecosystem runs smoothly.

Role Overview

Operating fully remotely from the West Coast, you will join a collaborative team of credentialing analysts, system integrators, and compliance specialists. Your primary focus will be to receive, validate, and maintain provider information within arenaxflex’s proprietary health‑plan system. You will also play a pivotal role in system integration projects, staff training, and quality‑control audits, all while adhering to strict HIPAA and Managed Care Organization (MCO) policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Acquisition & Validation: Receive provider demographic and contract data from external sources, verify completeness, and ensure alignment with arenaflex’s data standards.
  • Accurate Data Entry: Input provider details into the health‑plan system with a focus on speed, precision, and adherence to established formatting guidelines.
  • Ongoing Record Maintenance: Perform routine updates, corrections, and enhancements to provider profiles, reflecting changes in address, licensing, affiliations, and contract terms.
  • Quality Assurance Audits: Conduct systematic audits of provider records to identify discrepancies, resolve errors, and document corrective actions.
  • Compliance & Confidentiality: Uphold HIPAA regulations and arenaflex’s internal privacy policies, ensuring that all provider information is handled securely.
  • System Integration Support: Collaborate with IT and project teams on health‑plan integration initiatives, providing data expertise and participating in testing cycles.
  • Training & Knowledge Transfer: Mentor new hires and existing staff on data‑entry best practices, system navigation, and compliance requirements.
  • Feedback Documentation: Capture and communicate audit findings, system issues, and process improvement suggestions to leadership.
  • Attendance & Reliability: Maintain consistent punctuality for the designated shift (7:00 AM‑4:00 PM or 7:30 AM‑4:30 PM PST) and demonstrate dependable work habits.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 + year in a managed‑care environment, with hands‑on exposure to medical office operations, coding, or credentialing.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to navigate electronic health‑record (EHR) systems, provider portals, and data‑entry platforms.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of HIPAA, MCO policies, and the importance of confidentiality in health‑care data.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written abilities, enabling clear interaction with providers, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Attention to Detail: Proven track record of delivering error‑free work in fast‑paced environments.
  • Reliability: Commitment to the agreed‑upon schedule and consistent attendance.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Assets

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with provider credentialing software (e.g., CAQH, Verity) or claims processing platforms.
  • Familiarity with contract management concepts and the ability to interpret provider agreements.
  • Prior involvement in system implementation or integration projects.
  • Certification such as Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
  • Demonstrated ability to train and onboard new team members effectively.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex data sets, spot inconsistencies, and propose corrective actions.
  • Organizational Mastery: Manage multiple provider files simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Technological Agility: Quickly adapt to new software updates, system enhancements, and workflow tools.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with cross‑functional teams, including IT, compliance, and operations.
  • Problem‑Solving: Proactively identify root causes of data errors and suggest process improvements.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Build positive relationships with providers and internal stakeholders, fostering trust and cooperation.
