[Remote] Lead AI Engineer (Content Intelligence Applications)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. EPAM Systems is building content intelligence applications that leverage diffusion models for high-quality content generation and analysis at scale. As a Lead AI Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing applications, developing intelligent agents, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions into broader product ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and support content intelligence applications that apply diffusion models to automate content creation and analysis
• Build and refine harnesses and pipelines for model training, evaluation, and deployment using platforms such as Firefly
• Develop intelligent agents and agentic workflows to automate and simplify content-focused processes
• Design and roll out MCPs to provide scalable, modular content processing capabilities
• Create and maintain evaluation frameworks to track and improve model and agent performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate content intelligence solutions into broader product ecosystems
• Stay current on advances in generative AI, diffusion models, and content intelligence technologies

Skills

• Proven track record of 5 years in AI/ML engineering, with strong Python skills and demonstrated success building and deploying ML models
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, especially diffusion models (such as Stable Diffusion and Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Models)
• Solid background in content generation and analysis techniques, including NLP and computer vision
• Practical experience with agent frameworks and building agentic workflows (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI Agents, or custom agent architectures)
• Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and iterate on evaluation frameworks for AI models
• Working knowledge of orchestration tools and harnesses for training and deploying models (e.g., Firefly, MLflow, Kubeflow)
• Strong analytical skills and comfort solving problems in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team coordination and clear documentation
• English proficiency at B2 (Upper-Intermediate) level or above
• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a comparable field
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) to scale AI deployments
• Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
