They are seeking a Technical Product Manager to drive the strategy for application development platforms, simplifying the software development lifecycle and integrating AI capabilities to enhance developer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define Platform Strategy: Drive the long-term vision and roadmap for foundational application platforms, balancing immediate engineering needs with long-term architectural shifts (e.g., integrating AI-driven development workflows)
  • Simplify Developer Experience: Identify and eliminate friction points for Netflix engineers. Deliver cohesive managed runtimes and developer solutions that enable teams to build complex, stateful applications without managing underlying infrastructure
  • Champion a "no-ops" mindset where platform tooling abstracts operational complexity
  • Accelerate Adoption: Partner with engineering leaders across Content and Studio teams to drive migration from legacy systems to modern platforms
  • Measure Success: Define and track metrics related to platform reliability, and adoption, ensuring our investments deliver measurable improvements in engineering productivity
  • Evangelize the Platform: Act as the primary advocate for the application developer platform. Author strategy memos and represent the team's work to senior leadership

Skills

  • 7+ years in Product Management building and scaling technical developer platforms, or workflow automation tools
  • Deep technical fluency in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with the ability to debate architectural trade-offs with engineering leads
  • Developer-Centric Mindset: You view internal platforms as products that must delight their users. You understand the high cost of context switching and are dedicated to removing friction from engineering development
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to Connect technical platform capabilities to broader business goals
  • High AI Literacy: Experience launching or integrating AI-enabled developer tools (e.g., coding assistants, AI agents) or leveraging AI to optimize workflow automation
  • Influence without authority: Proven ability to align cross-functional teams and drive organization-wide change management and platform adoption
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
