GE Vernova is a leader in energy solutions, and they are seeking a Business Development Manager to shape and drive their commercial strategy for Power Transformer Services. The role involves developing market segments, formulating sales strategies, and maintaining customer relationships to achieve profitable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates and executes strategy and sales agreements. Formulates deal structure, pricing, proposal development. Assists in customer negotiations. Identifies new opportunities with functional partners to develop new products and services for business growth
  • Develop and execute a plan to grow products to target markets and key accounts
  • Define and develop business strategies/plans to meet order booking and margin plans
  • Shape and craft value propositions for the market
  • Partner with the regional commercial teams to drive market share growth
  • Provide leadership and support to all channel partners
  • Responsible for maintaining and growing order booking and operational profit targets
  • Position as the primary Interface and liaison between the sales team and business to meet customer demands and influence
  • Assist in the development of product / services to match customer trends and needs
  • Developing specialized knowledge of latest commercial developments in own area and communication skills to influence others. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns or customers. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field

Skills

  • BS from accredited university or college (STEM) and/ or a BA with 5 years in a direct related field
  • 5 years of experience with power transmission and distribution equipment and or Services
  • Experience developing and executing successful growth strategies
  • Ability to interact & function cooperatively with multiple stakeholders and customers
  • 5 plus years of experience with power transmission and distribution equipment Services sales
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background
  • Ability to travel as required (up to 50%)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Established project management skills
