[Remote] Instructional Support Specialist

BDV Solutions is a company focused on enhancing educational practices, and they are seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to provide practical support to J-1 Cultural Exchange Teachers. This role involves delivering targeted coaching, developing instructional resources, and collaborating with educational stakeholders to improve teaching practices and align with Florida Department of Education standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted 1:1 coaching and intervention for teachers identified as needing instructional support
- Conduct classroom observations using TPG’s standardized rubric driven by educational best practices, and provide actionable, feedback-driven instructional guidance
- Support teachers across Elementary, Secondary, and ESE classrooms with differentiated strategies
- Model effective teaching practices aligned to current instructional best practices
- Develop and distribute proactive instructional resources, including written guides, webinars, and in-person training sessions
- Maintain and continuously update a research-based instructional resource library
- Support the implementation of instructional strategies aligned with FLDOE standards and district priorities
- Partner with district instructional support representatives and school administrators to align services with local and district needs
- Collaborate with Program Managers to address teacher performance concerns and implement improvement plans
- Maintain strong, consistent communication with J-1 teachers, school administrators, and key stakeholders
- Support professional development initiatives aligned to district goals and instructional priorities
- Work closely with the Instructional Support Coach to ensure consistency and quality of support delivery
- Assist in aligning instructional support efforts with broader program goals and compliance expectations
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Valid teaching certification (Florida preferred or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 3 years of K–12 classroom teaching experience
- Experience teaching in Florida schools
- Strong understanding of FLDOE standards, assessments, and accountability systems
- Master's degree in education or a related field
- Experience in educational technology including Learning Management Systems (LMS), Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS), i Ready, ESE accommodations and differentiation
- Experience in instructional coaching, mentoring, or teacher leadership roles
- Completion of, or current enrollment in, district leadership cohort training
- Background in supporting diverse learners, including ESE populations
- Experience designing and delivering professional development
