They are seeking a Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives, develop relationships with hospitals, and manage key deliverables in the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Hospital Services development executive within 1 to 2 $1+B operating groups. Lead initiatives that drive long-term growth as part of division leadership team
  • Partner with Hospital division leadership team to analyze market trends and identify opportunities/threats. Develop plans for division to achieve Company’s objectives related to revenue, EBITDA, capital, presence, and other key measures
  • Source, develop, and negotiate renal partnerships with assigned Hospitals and Systems. Examples include Hospital Services Agreements, and Discharge planning agreements
  • Develop strong relationships with external and internal customers which will help facilitate more growth. Teams and resources may include core Pegasus BD team, Operations, Strategy, Finance, M&A, Legal, Hospital Services, Payor Contracts, Integrated Care, other
  • Develop, manage, and/or track executive relationships with Hospitals, Systems, and related stakeholders and assist with DaVita’s partner selection process for strategic opportunities
  • Manage key deliverables. Prepare and deliver executive presentations to senior leadership teams within Company and at external partners
  • Update Salesforce.com and other internal tools. Provide timely status on accounts, opportunities and other growth initiatives within division

Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree is required
  • Significant work experience in the healthcare industry with Medical Device Strategic Sales, Health System strategy and growth, knowledge of industry dynamics (e.g., cost, quality, reimbursement, Hospital purchasing strategies, etc)
  • 5+ years of transaction experience in Corporate Development and sales (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, other partnerships)
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing markets, partners, and competitors to develop 3-5 year growth strategies and plans
  • Passion for building trusted-advisor relationships with partners to create tangible results
  • Ability to structure and manage complex projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels
  • Strong influential leadership skills with a team-oriented and collaborative approach
  • Ability to analyze income statements and cash flows to help make executive decisions on growth-related projects
  • Excellent negotiation skills with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities; executive presence to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior leaders and business partners
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce, and other tools
  • An MBA, MPH, or a relevant graduate degree is preferred
  • Experience in development of new Hospital and System relationships development preferred
  • If no Device or Hospital experience, then other relevant experience (e.g., management consulting, private equity, investment banking, and pharmaceutical or physician relationship development)
