[Remote] Staff Engineer - Grow Talent Experience

Remote · USA Full-time New today

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Guild is a company focused on cultivating a culture of high-performance and is hiring a Staff Engineer to join their Grow Talent Experience team. This role involves designing and delivering robust software solutions that enhance member experiences, mentoring engineers, and driving technical direction within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead front-end architecture and development — owning the design and implementation of user interfaces that are performant, accessible, and scalable. Set the standard for front-end quality, patterns, and best practices across the team
  • Design, build, and own new services and infrastructure that support our member-facing experiences end to end
  • Write clean, testable, and reusable code. Contribute to end-to-end development including testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment, ensuring high availability and quality in releases
  • Drive technical decision-making and direction — authoring design documents, architecture decision records (ADRs), and leading technical discussions that communicate trade-offs clearly and move the team forward with confidence
  • Mentor and elevate the 4 other engineers on the team, providing hands-on guidance, code review feedback, and career development support. Help the team grow not just in output, but in capability
  • Lead cross-functional alignment — partnering closely with product managers, designers, and operations teams to translate business requirements into engineering solutions, and serving as a technical voice in roadmap planning and prioritization
  • Identify and champion improvements to performance, reliability, and developer velocity using operational data, user feedback, and your own engineering judgment
  • Improve internal development processes, tools, and workflows to enhance code quality, speed of delivery, and system security

Skills

  • Deep expertise in front-end technologies, especially React and TypeScript, with a strong eye for building intuitive, high-quality user experiences
  • Excellent cross-team communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of driving alignment across engineering, product, and design in a distributed environment
  • Expertise in several (or all!) of these tools and technologies: Python, TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and GraphQL
  • Expertise building and owning multiple services and user interfaces — data modeling, unit and integration testing, application monitoring, and CI/CD
  • Expertise with a cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure, DigitalOcean), database technologies (Postgres, MySQL, NoSQL), and modern source control (Git / GitHub)
  • Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar
  • Experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI) and building AI-powered features, including assistants, summarization, RAG workflows, or vector search
  • Demonstrated curiosity and interest in keeping up with and experimenting with emerging technologies

Benefits

  • Access to low-cost, high-quality health care options through Collective Health and Kaiser (due to coverage limitations, Kaiser is currently only available in CA & CO)
  • Access to a 401k to help save for the future
  • Vacation policy to rest and recharge
  • 8 days of fully-paid sick leave, to take the time to heal and or recover
  • Family-friendly benefits, including 12 weeks of parental leave for non-birthing parents and 18-20 weeks for birthing parents; 2-week ramp-up period for when employees return from a leave of 6 weeks or more; as well as employer-paid short-term and long-term disability, employer-sponsored life insurance, fertility and caregiving benefits.
  • Well-rounded wellness benefits including free and low cost mental health resources and financial wellbeing support services
  • Education benefits and tuition assistance to help your future development and growth
