Department Overview At Motorola Solutions we are helping solve some of the biggest challenges around safety and physical security by developing advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and products that are used to help keep people, businesses, and cities around the world safer. Motorola Solution’s Video Division designs, develops, and manufactures advanced AI, video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions that help change the way people interact with their security systems. Our co-ops don’t wash cars or do coffee runs. They also don’t work on side projects. Our co-ops are treated like full team members and are given the opportunity to learn what being a computer engineer is like in the real world. You’ll have the opportunity to learn new technologies and best practices in product development including coding, testing, and automation. You’ll also have a lot of fun and make a lot of friends. For the duration of your work term, you will be a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for the design and validation of the next generation of Motorola’s market-leading high-performance video solutions products. The appliance testing team at Motorola are responsible for recommending, validating, automating, and performance testing platforms that are used to deploy our world-class Avigilon Control Center software product. Job Description

Responsibilities include: Continually improve the quality of Avigilon’s software and hardware products through the creation, execution, and maintenance of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts Ensure that Avigilon produces the highest quality, easiest to use products in the surveillance industry Report defects using JIRA Measure and report on the performance of various components of our system Identify and make recommendations to remove performance bottlenecks Develop and document internal tools to aid testing and development teams Verify resolution of defects and support issues Setup and maintain complex test environments Basic Requirements Qualifications: Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise documentation Self-motivated, with the ability to learn quickly and independently Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills Some understanding of C#, Powershell, Python, Linux/Shell, IP Networking would be an asset Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or any relevant field Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience: General computer knowledge of items like: RAID, BIOS, Firmware, PCIe, etc. Prior experience installing and configuring NVR’s, computers or network equipment Knowledge of client/server architectures Knowledge of video file formats and related concepts Travel Requirements None Relocation Provided None Position Type Experienced Referral Payment Plan Yes EEO Statement Motorola Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
